Description

A 1978 North Carolina State University release, the berries of Powderblue Rabbiteye blueberry are a very pretty, light blue color. They are medium in size, with excellent firmness, and they have a delicious, sweet (even slightly tart) flavor. Powderblue has an upright, spreading growth habit, and is an excellent choice for using in the edible/ornamental landscape, with fall foliage that is yellow-orange in color. Powderblue is also a good choice for commercial plantings, and has shown good freeze resistance, as well as a good resistance to overall disease.
NOTE:Ā All of our fruit plants are grown in containers outdoors so they are fully rooted and landscape-ready upon arrival.

Growing Preferences

Blueberry plants grow best in an acidic (pH of 4.8 to 5.2), organically rich, moist, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. The more sun the better for best berry production. The shallow, fibrous roots of blueberry plants like a consistently moist but well-drained soil which can be provided by with a layer of organic mulch. Although blueberries are self-fertile, cross-pollination produces the best fruit crop (larger berries and larger yields). Therefore it is best to plant more than one variety that will bloom at the same time. Blueberry season can be extended by planting early, mid-season and late varieties. Make sure to plant two different cultivars/varieties for each season. USDA Zones: 7b-10b Ā Find Your Zone >

Questions?Ā Ā Contact Us!

Several months ago I was searching for a particular plant which brought me to Wilson Bros. I am not tech savvy but the website was excellent. Extremely easy, fast, answered all of my questions, and has a wonderful system. If the product is sold out, they email you to let you know that they now have it in stock. Delivery is fast, always packed carefully. I have never had a plant that was not perfect when I opened the box. I literally have spent thousands of dollars with Wilson bros and I will continue to do so. I have only called the company once, and they answered my question, were extremely knowledgeable and very pleasant to talk with. Pricing was great, no more Home Depot or Lowe’s. I have 25 acres in Odessa Florida with a gazillion Wilson Bros plants and this is the only company that I will purchase plants from.———————————————————We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy it for years to come! Thanks for the kind words and super review! šŸ™‚ Beth Steele | WBG
I received my order of blueberries yesterday. I was so impressed with the quality of the plants! I had such a hard time trying to find a nursery selling rabbit eye blueberries. I was a little nervous buying online because many times you just don’t know what you are going to get. I said many times between pulling them out of the box and putting them in the ground, ā€œI can’t believe how good these look!ā€ I look forward to seeing them leaf out this spring!
Thank you!—————————————————-We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy them for years to come! Thanks for the kind words and great review! šŸ™‚ Beth Steele | WBG

I ordered two Powderblue Rabbiteye blueberry plants – 1 gallon size. The plants were absolutely beautiful, nice size and healthy. The packaging was excellent – no damage in shipping. They are planted and look very happy in their new home.———————————————————We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy them for years to come! I ordered 5 blueberry plants and all 5 have arrived in beautiful condition. Due to the extraordinarily wet weather they still wait to be planted and they are doing fine. I will order from Wilson Bros again.—————————————————–Thanks for the kind words! We are so glad you are pleased with your purchase! Thanks for the great review! Beth | WBG šŸ™‚
Ain’t nothin’ gonna happen to anything they ship.
I opened a box with two blueberry plants–one in each end of the box–and thought I was just going to lift them out of the box. Each pot had been stapled through the box to ensure no slippage during transit. Beautiful! One plant had absolutely no leaves when I opened it, but within three days had exploded all over in buds. I’m definitely going to have blueberries this year. Next up, blackberries.——————————–WBG Reply: Hi Stacy, Thanks so much for taking the time to provide your review of the Powderblue Rabbiteye Blueberry. We pride ourselves on our shipping! We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy it for years to come!
